Gerald Vigier

Gerry pitched for Notre Dame from 1946-1965 and then managed and coached the team untill 1976. Gerry and his team won the South Central League twice, struck out sixteen St. James hitters in one game and fanned fourteen Stan Evans Orioles in another contest. Gerry was the main organizer for the prestigious Notre Dame tournament. In 1954 Notre Dame won the tournament with Gus Pantel and Gerry Vigier pitching. Vigier was picked up by several teams for tournaments and had good catchers in Bill Dunn (Dunrea), Shorty Sanderson, and Henry Daudet (Notre Dame).


Cam Walker

Walker was a player and a builder, as well as am excellent pitcher. He was with the 1973 Manitoba beaver finalists (2 hitter, 11 Ks), in 1975 was with the Manitoba bantam champs (12 k`s), and the Western Canada silver medallists. Walker started playing with the Souris Cards in M.S.B.L. at the age of 14 as 3 B, and in 1979 was selected for the National junior program. Walker enrolled at the Indeian Hills Community College in Centerville, Iowa, where they defeated the Montreal Expos Was Palm Beach (Class A) minor league team. In 1981 Walker moved to Western Kentucky University where he has a 7-1 record with team leading 60 k`s. In 1982 Walker was Western Kentucky`s co- captain with 8-3 record played summer ball at Barrhead AB, and was league all star in 1981 and 1982. Walker pitched and beat Team Canada (4 hitter & 8 k`s), he was added to the Team Canada roster for Intercontinental Cup, and pitched the opening game against Panama winning 7-2 with 8 k`s. After graduation from Western Kentucky Walker received a $40,000 signing bonus from Milwaukee Brewers. Walker had offers from the Blue Jays, Yankees, Braves, Reds, Giants and Angels, and from 1983-88 played "High A" ball at Stockton in California League. Walker played AA at El Paso in Texas League and one year of winter ball in Mexica. In 1989 Cam Walker returned to Alma Mater as pitching coach and in 1992 became the head coach of Indian hills Falcons, which he still holds today. Walker led his club to Junior College (JUCO) World Series in 1993, 95, 97, 98 & was named Region XI coach of the year and ABCA Louisville Slugger Coach of the year each time.


Jack Warwick

Jack Warwick was a great hitter, and a flawless first baseman. In 1943 he played with the Norwood Seniors, in 1944 and `45 with the St. Boniface Seniors, from 1946-`47 with the Elmwood Giants Juniors, in 1948 with the Washington Senators (played 3.5 months with Fulton, Kentucky. In 1949 Jack played with the Elmwood Giants, 1950 Man Dak League with Willie Wells Sr., Solly Drake, Hal Price, Lyman Bostock on Giants, in 1951 with Selkirk, in 1952 and `53 with Transcona, 1954 St. Boniface Native Sons plus rural tournaments in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.


Bob Wasslen

Bob started at age 14 and for most of the next 35 years he was catcher and often manager of the Binscarth Buffaloes-Orioles. Bob was the force behind baseball in Binscarth. In the 1960s the Binscarth club contended annually for North West League championship. Bob joined M.S.B.L. in 1972 and for next 14 years never missed the playoffs. Binscarth won M.S.B.L. four times (1972, 1977, 1982, 1984) and took two Manitoba championships. Bob also played with Balmoral Orioles and Carman Cubs in Winnipeg Senior League - he was with Carman`s 1963 city championship team. Bob coached Selkirk juniors in 1989-90. He was inducted into M.B.A. Honour Society in 1993.


Frank Watkins

Inducted: 2006
Date of Birth: August 17, 1924
Location: Ireland

Frank Watkins lived in Reston before World War Two, and enlisted from there in the Canadian Army. Returned from the War and excelled as a pitcher with Reston, Grandview, Brandon Greys, and Souris Cardinals. He was league All Star in 1948 through 1951 while playing with Brandon Greys. In 1949 he was 17-3, and in the final game against Elmwood Giants before 5200 fans at Kinsmen Stadium, he pitched all 15 innings and singled home the winning run in a 2-1 nail-biter. The only run scored off him was by Solly Drake, later with the Chicago Cubs. He pitched for Souris Cardinals in 1953 and 1954 when they won the Central Manitoba Baseball Championship.


Hal Westberg

Hal played, mainly as a pitcher and on first, 21 years with 15 in senior ball. In 1951 and 1952 Hal played for the Morseplace midgets, in 53 and 54 for the Morseplace juveniles, and in 1954 and 55 for the Selkirk juniors. Hal pitched two scoreless innings in Tribune all star game , and in 1956 the Selkirk Seniors won the North East League. From 1957-1958 Hal played for the Elmwood Giants, from 1959-61 for the St. Boniface Athletics, and won the Parochial League each year. In 1962 Hal played for the St. Boniface Native Sons as their all star first baseman, won the senior league with 22-0 record. From 1963-64 Hal played for the Vita Mallards, from 1965-66 for the C.U.A.C. Blues, from 1967-1970 for the St. Boniface Seniors. Hal played a considerable tournament ball with Lorne Benson and Sam Tascona teams. He was a very active as a player and a volunteer in culing and slow pitch with Morseplace Flashbacks. Hal also ran track and played midget, juvenile and industrial hockey.


John Whit Meredith

Inducted: 1998
Date of Birth: November l4. 1901 - 1988

Outstanding pitcher from Glenboro, great fastball and curve, plenty of steam, performed with Brandon Greys ( l920-21), shut out Winnipeg All-Stars (8-0) at Wesley Park 1922. struck out 17 batters against Munich, N.D. in 7 innings, brilliant pitching of elongated hurler paced Glenboro against, Minot, Pembina and numerous Manitoba tournaments.


Bob Williamson

Bob Williamson was an excellent second baseman and later outfielder for 24 years with Riverside in the M.S.B.L. Bob was on the first all star team eleven times, second all star team seven times, and was the batting champion twice, in 1977 (.442) and in 1982 (.415). Hal was also a M.S.B.L. champion eight times, and a Manitoban champion five times (73, 74, 78, 81, 82). Bob played for Team Manitoba several times (won bronze at Canadians in 1976), holds two M.S.B.L. records, for 42 runs scored in 1980 and hit by pitch in 1982. Bob won the Ab Richardson award for dedication to baseball in 1992, became a M.S.B.L. Honorary Life Member in 2000, and was named the 40th anniversary second all star team as an outfielder. Bob Williamson also directed the Belmont operation for Riverside for many years. Bob was known as a fierce competitor, a fine player, and a "great team" man. Willie joins his father Wimpy in the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.


Harvey "Wimpy" Williamson

Wimpy Williamson played 25 years with the Belmont A`s as a right fielder and terrific power hitter. Wimpy played 2-3 tournaments a week in North Dakota, southern Manitoba, and southeastern Saskatchewan. He won July 1st tournaments in both Neepawa and Morden. Wimpy was part of the Belmont team that won the Central Manitoba Baseball Association (8 leagues) championship in 1952. He played against touring teams, including Muskogee Cardinals. Wimpy loved baseball and roll-your-own cigarettes.


Bob Wilson

Bob Wilson played in the Brandon After Little League, Pony League, Brandon Athletics, and for one year Bob joined the Cloverleafs in 1957. For the next 21 years Bob won the Central Manitoba Baseball crown four times from 1957-60, won M.S.B.L. title six times and the Manitoba senior A crown five times (66, 69, 70, 71, 76). Bob plyed in the Canadian championships at Kenosee (1971), took silver at the Canadian championships in Edmunston, N.B. in 1973, and was named to M.S.B.L. first all star team nine times and the second all star team three times. Bob had a 17 year batting average of .306 in M.S.B.L., and was named to the M.S.B.L. forty year all star team as an outfielder.
