Ed Kulyk was born on March 13, 1969, and resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba. For many years, Kulyk was a committed organizer and builder for one of the top baseball organizations in the province, the Elmwood Giants. Kulyk has served on the Elmwood Giants Board of Directors, overseeing scheduling, organization, recruiting, membership, and fundraising for the team. On top of his commitment to the team, Kulyk has claimed the title of Chief Administrator of Koskie Field, home of the Elmwood Giants. Kulyk has overseen diamond scheduling, revenue collection, field maintenance, capital projects and upgrades, insurance, and field security. Above all, Kulyk has been a successful coach and manager. Kulyk’s Elmwood Giants 22U AAA team were finalists in the Manitoba Junior Baseball League for ten consecutive seasons, spanning 2016 through 2025. During these years, they were six-time league champions and were selected four times as Manitoba’s High-Performance Team of the Year. In 2023, the team were National Champions and won the Western Canada Baseball Association championship in 2024. Individually, Kulyk has been named Manager of the Year in the Manitoba Junior Baseball League in 2016 and 2022, as well as named Baseball Manitoba’s High-Performance Coach of the Year in 2019 and 2023.
