Lindsey Dahl was born on April 28th, 1978. He was raised in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Both Dahl and his twin, Matthew Dahl, excelled in baseball growing up. Dahl became an outstanding catcher, known as a dangerous left-handed hitter that played on many provincial championship teams in Portage youth categories, Junior in Carman, and Senior in Elmwood. Dahl went on to represent Manitoba in numerous Western Canada and National championships. In 1996, Dahl was a member of Team Manitoba for the Blue Jays Cup. In 1997, he played on Team Manitoba at the Canada Summer Games. Dahl demonstrated his superstar qualities when he played in the Manitoba Junior League from 1997-1999, winning a batting championship and taking the triple crown. In 1999, Dahl was named to an all-star team and crowned Most Valuable Player. In 2000, Dahl was on the opening day roster of the Winnipeg Goldeyes. In Senior ball, Dahl was a part of the powerful Elmwood Giants team that won two Western Canadian Championships and were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2016.
