Ryan Scott was born on January 10, 1968. Growing up, Scott played minor ball in Minnedosa, joining Hamiota in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League in 1985. He was a strong player on the Hamiota teams of the late 1980s and early 1990s that were subsequently inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012. Scott played for Team Manitoba in the Western Canada Summer Games in 1987 and at the Canada Summer Games in 1989. In 1990, he was a member of Team Manitoba at the Western Canadian Senior Championship, winning the batting title and being named a tournament all-star. Scott played college ball for four years in the USA, playing on a Mayville State team that earned a spot in the college's Hall of Fame. In 1991, he became a NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete. In 1993, he jointed the McAuley Blazers and was the MSBL's Most Valuable Player, batting champion, and first-team all-star center fielder. From 1994 to 1997, Scott joined the Neepawa Farmers and contributed to their success. The Farmers were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017. In the 1990s, Scott adopted coaching alongside playing, becoming an assistant coach for Team Manitoba at the 1995 Canadian Youth tournament and at the 1997 Canada Summer Games in Brandon. In 2000, Scott played with the Brandon Cloverleafs. He currently resides in Moncton, New Brunswick.
