Clayton Dreger was born on October 2, 1960. He grew up in Morris, Manitoba, where he played baseball and numerous other sports. In 1985, Dreger began his radio career with Radio Southern Manitoba. This would begin a four-decade journey of promoting sports within the province with a particular focus on baseball during the summer months. Over the years, Dreger has reported on hundreds of baseball events, dating back to the MSBL and Redboine Senior League in 1985. Across all the Golden West stations, he had promoted the game with information about schedules, tournaments, results, and personalities. Dreger has been the master of ceremonies for the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame induction banquet on twenty-two occasions. He had also been master of ceremonies for the Baseball Manitoba awards night continuously since 2013. After a long and successful career, Dreger retired from sports journalism in January of 2025.
