Nate Andrews was born on June 6th, 1975, in Brandon, Manitoba, where he excelled in baseball from a young age. In his hometown, Andrews was a leader of the Brandon Mosquito team that won a provincial championship in 1986. He went on to play on two Brandon Beaver teams that would also win provincial championships. Andrews was picked up by the Portage Athletics Midget team in 1991, which was the only team from Manitoba in that age category to win a Canadian championship. This team was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020. Two years later, Andrews was a part of the Manitoba Youth Team of 1993. In the same year, he attended Mayville State as a member of the Mayville State Comets. The Comets were conference champions in all Andrews’s four years of participation. From 1993 to 2015, Andrews mostly played with the Brandon Marlins in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League. The Brandon Marlins were founded in 1995 by himself and his father, Neil Andrews. The 1999-2008 Brandon Marlins team were subsequently inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018. Andrews was a nine-time-all-star in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League. He was a part of five MSBL championship teams, a two-time home run champion, and two-time RBI leader. Through his baseball career, Andrews played in the Canadian Senior Baseball Championship tournament five times. Andrews went on to coach high-level minor baseball in his hometown of Brandon, Manitoba. To this day, Andrews is one of the main volunteers and organizers who looks after Andrews Field.
